Terrific Kids Programs at local Elementary Schools
A Terrific Kids Program is in place at Hunter's Green Elementary, Mort Elementary, Heritage Elementary and Turner Elementary. The Terrific Kids Program provides teachers with a tool to reward children who set goals and attain them. The children set achievable goals with their teachers and, upon achieving those goals, are rewarded by the Kiwanis Club with rewards that can include a certificate of achievement, bumper stickers, pencils, erasers, T-shirts, etc. These awards will be given out several times during the school year in special ceremonies. In recognizing these children, the program encourages the involvement of parents and others in the community, creates a positive environment which promotes self-esteem and utlimately helps give the children the best education possible.
